Play65 Stops Offering Real Money Play (Updated)
Since 12.08.2012 all sites under the LogicEmpire Network that includes Play65, GammonEmpire, PrimeBackgammon have stopped offering real money play. Some players have been notified that money should be withdrawn until 12th of September.
We will keep you updated on the situation once we have more information. You can post your withdraw progress and your opinion about Play65 closure in the comments. Check our Facebook Page for more updates and information.
Update #1 13.08.2012
We have contacted one of the managers at Play65, and they have confirmed the situation. Play65.com Real Money Mode closes until second notice.
We have received information that there is a big merger ongoing in the parent company, Logic Empire, and this is the reason for the closure of real money mode. We are not aware of when it will be reopened again. You should, however, feel safe that every penny of your money is going to get paid out, because this is not a case of bankruptcy, as it has happened with TrueMoneyGames a few years ago and recently with Full Tilt Poker.
Update #2 17.08.2012
We encourage you to continue informing us on the status of their withdrawals. Delays can be expected, because everybody is withdrawing at the moment. Please post a comment to this post once you have any progress with your payments.
Update #3 17.08.2012
Yet again, we have been assured by a member of the Play65 Team that players will be paid out. Everybody that has not requested a withdrawal should do so by the 12th of September.
Update #4 20.08.2012
Dear Mr. XXXX,
Thank you for your email. Interlogic (Alderney) Limited has notified the Alderney Gambling Control Commission of its decision to discontinue eGambling operations and allow all its players to withdraw their funds. This is a standard process, and it will happen in accordance with the licensee’s approved internal controls, and following the orderly closedown plan submitted to the Commission. Due to the expected large number of withdrawal requests that must be processed over a relatively short time period some initial delays are likely, but please rest assured that the Commission is monitoring the situation closely. In the unlikely event that you have not received your funds by the middle of September, please notify us again, and we will contact the licensee for a prompt resolution.
Kind regards,
Alderney Gambling Control Commission
Update #5 21.08.2012
The reason why Play65 is confiscating bonuses, according to their Terms and Conditions, is that players agreed with when registering; they can do that. We know that sucks, but gambling/backgammon sites aren’t under consumer laws, so they can do a lot of stuff that you’re happy about that.
11. Bonuses
The Company may deposit bonuses in your account from time to time, such as upon registration (email \ phone verification bonus), retention bonus, VIP shop bonus, and/or other funds which are deposited by the Company in your account. Any such funds, and/or any other funds which are not directly deposited by you and/or earned by yourself in the games shall be considered as a Bonus. Notwithstanding anything else in this User Agreement, bonuses may be used for real money games\tournaments only and are not withdrawable. The Company reserves the right to deny or remove any kind of Bonus at any given time, even if it has already been added in to your account’s balance, without further or previous notifications.
Update #6 25.08.2012

Today we have noticed that Play65 is offering BGroom as an alternative room to play backgammon. These thieves are not ready to give up on your money. They are trying to use the visits on their website and are not offering real money play while trying to make money from you as players. If you register for BGroom from their website, you are still going to make a profit for Play65. Do you want to make more money for the crooks that stole your bonuses and didn’t pay them out? We advise you to stay away from this offer of Play65. Besides, the bonus they are offering for BGroom is only 30% and we at OnlineBackgammon.Org.Uk offer a 100% up to $200 with bonus code BGM200.
Update #7 03.09.2012

We just received a payment from Play65 (actually AtlanticPayments – the payment processor of the whole SkillEmpire) as an affiliate. This is the full amount of money they owed us for a given period of time. Play65 seems to at least care for its partners, although it is no longer operating real money mode. As you can see from the comments, some customers are being paid out and combining the fact that they also pay out partners.
Update #8 29.10.2012
Play65 has gone completely rogue. Neither we, nor any players are able to contact anybody from support (both regular and management team). We have been informed that they still owe money to partner affiliate sites, and we guess that they probably owe money to some players too. After the 10th of September no payments were made.
If you expected to receive money from Play65 and still have not, we advise you to contact Alderney Gambling Commission Control, which was the authority that gave a license to Play65. All unhandled money requests should be aimed at them.
Play65 Alternatives
As long as Play65 Backgammon is inactive you can try other rooms that are at the level of Play65.
